Forbo's Marmoleum modal: a linoleum serving design and modularity

As a linoleum expert, Forbo has chosen to highlight its Marmoleum modal range, a modular linoleum comprising 51 references, 6 designs and 3 formats, offering interior architects, fitters and designers endless tiling layout possibilities. Its increased resistance to heavy traffic and heavy loads makes it an ideal ally for premises classified U4 and gives it an optimal level of trust among project owners.

Its ease and speed of installation have made it a favorite among installers. Note that with its "bio-based" ingredients, Marmoleum modal, which is naturally antibacterial, is emblematic of the commitment of Forbo Flooring Systems to the environment and to everyone's health and well-being. Marmoleum modal is therefore positioned as an ecological alternative to traditional LVT, while retaining, and even enhancing, the design properties that have made this family of floor coverings so successful.

Design combined with the natural qualities of linoleum
Marmoleum modal stands out for a wide range of colors and material effects that are completely new in linoleum. The 11 lines designs come in neutral tones, nuancing greys, beiges and taupes, whose seemingly classic look is offset by random linear effects that invite you to create subtly original, resolutely warm atmospheres. Conversely, the textura designs, numbering 7, immediately display a very contemporary look, playing on a delicately grained, wood-inspired texture.
A common point between lines and textura: their plank format of 100 x 25 cm.

The slate designs reveal a slate pattern whose relief echoes natural stone while combining with the warmth and purity of linoleum. Strikingly realistic, the 4 slate references give spaces a sophisticated, refined look. Still in this mineral spirit, the shade designs, with a stone and concrete look, bring elegance and intensity to interiors with character. 9 shades of grey, beige and taupe are joined by 1 authentic black, ensuring a perfect balance of nuances while allowing you to play the contrast card: you can create captivating atmospheres full of shadow and light, or opt for a graphic black-and-white checkerboard.

The marble effect also features in the new Marmoleum modal collection, with 11 marble designs. Timeless tone-on-tone marbling sits alongside others with more pronounced veining. While refinement is again the order of the day, combining several marble designs is perfectly suited to contemporary settings. Finally, bright tones take center stage with the 8 colour designs: from the vitamin-rich yellow lemon zest to the incandescent scarlet red, by way of the exotic blue laguna, the colour references make it possible to bring subtle variations or, on the contrary, bold accents to even the simplest tiling layouts.

An original alternative to LVT
From an environmental point of view, first of all: Marmoleum modal is made from 88 % natural or renewable raw materials (linseed oil, rosin, wood flour, mineral fillers, pigments). Marmoleum modal is thus positioned as one of the most ecological and healthy modular design floors on the market. In addition, its manufacturing process uses 100 % renewable energy and optimizes production offcuts.

With a residual indentation of 0.08 mm, they are characterized by increased resistance to heavy traffic, impacts (no risk of chipping), cigarette burns and the test of time. This durability is further enhanced by the fact that its colors are tinted throughout the material and that its Topshield2 surface treatment, a water-based lacquer that avoids the need for metallization, forms a genuine stain barrier for a naturally antibacterial floor that is easy to clean. Finally, its polyester backing guarantees optimal dimensional stability, even when installed over large areas.

Its modular nature is also unique. Ultra-light and more flexible than tiles, Marmoleum modal is easy to install and cut, without noise or dust: all guarantees of comfort for installers. Its thinness (2.5 mm) also makes it more malleable than parquet or laminate: no more fitting around door frames! Note that, depending on the classification of the premises, installation without welding represents a significant time saving. The technical performance of Marmoleum modal is unanimously praised. Suitable for UPEC premises U4 P3 E1/E2 C2, covered by a CSTB Technical Approval and classified for reaction to fire Cfl-s1 (meeting M3 regulations), Marmoleum modal floor coverings carry the best health labeling class, A+, for air quality thanks to their low level of volatile organic compounds (TVOC < 100 ?g/m3).
