Marmoleum solid & striato, Forbo's contemporary linoleum

Marmoleum solid & striato, Forbo's contemporary linoleum

Forbo Flooring Systems has long claimed expertise in linoleum, a material whose success has made it a genuine generic term. Choosing to develop a floor covering made from 97% natural raw materials, of which 75% are renewable, is part of its DNA, as its signature ?Committed to everyone's health? suggests. This attention to the environment and well-being goes hand in hand with a distinct inventiveness and flair for design in creating each new reference.

After launching Marmoleum click, a revolutionary modular solution, in 2016, Forbo is now unveiling a highly creative, brand-new linoleum offer, Marmoleum solid & striato. With designs ranging from Marmoleum cocoa, made with cocoa husk extracts, to Marmoleum slate, inspired by the natural texture of stone, this new collection is sure to elevate linoleum to the rank of an intensely contemporary, even visionary material!

Let us also highlight the Marmoleum imagine range, the result of a collaboration between 3 international designers, which benefits from an innovative water jet cutting technique (aquajet).

Marmoleum solid & striato: THE linoleum for the floors of today and tomorrow

Elegant design and unique decors
With 105 references, Marmoleum solid & striato blends colors and textures (cocoa, concrete, striato, piano, slate and walton) to create soothing or invigorating atmospheres at will.

Linoleum, made of renewable materials (linseed oil, wood flour, pigments and mineral fillers, pine resin, jute backing), is in itself a tribute to nature, and it is precisely nature that inspired the Forbo Flooring Systems designers when creating the Marmoleum solid & striato decors.

For Marmoleum cocoa, for instance, the integration of recycled material from cocoa bean husks proves to be an innovation that is as technical as it is aesthetic. The result: a uniquely grainy texture to the touch, with a natural and contemporary look. Winner of the prestigious iF Design Award 2017, this floor covering reinforces Forbo Flooring Systems' ethos of sustainable design.

Marmoleum slate features a slate pattern whose relief combines the timelessness of natural stone with the warmth and purity of linoleum. Sophisticated, refined spaces guaranteed! It is also strikingly realistic, with a matte finish that enhances the material...
Marmoleum striato renews its linear decors blending warm, cool and neutral tones. Its textura version adds a surprising grainy dimension that literally brings the floor to life, as it changes appearance depending on the angle from which it is viewed.
Marmoleum concrete broadens its concrete effects and offers six new vibrant colors, with an innovative and exclusive combination concept.
Marmoleum piano, whose name echoes the Italian term suggesting softness and lightness, offers minimalist decors alongside particularly vivid ?allegro? shades.
Finally, Marmoleum walton, with its smooth surface and understated colors, continues to embody THE linoleum in its purest form, whose soft, natural look opens up possibilities for every imaginable application.

Unrivaled technical performance
Forbo Flooring Systems combines creativity and high technology in each of its innovations. Marmoleum solid & striato is proof of this.
Forbo's design approach thus includes the search for colors with a high light reflectance value (LRV) to promote energy savings by creating a calm, relaxing environment.

With ever lower VOC emissions and naturally antibacterial, Marmoleum solid & striato guarantees optimal indoor air quality (class A+, the best class of the French health labeling for air quality).

Finally, Marmoleum solid & striato is the only linoleum on the market with an acoustic version at 19 dB, a major asset in high-traffic areas, providing all the comfort needed for users' well-being. Please note that this decibel version is available on request from 180 m2 across the entire collection.

Marmoleum imagine

Carte blanche given to 3 international designers for highly colorful creations!
Forbo Flooring Systems approached 3 internationally renowned designers to create an exclusive Marmoleum range that can be customized on request and whose manufacture uses an original water jet cutting technique, Aquajet.

Sigrid Calon, a Flemish artist, has a strong affinity for graphic and textile arts. The 3 Marmoleum references she designed, Weave, Stitch and Knot, each have their own identity while reflecting the unique style of her work, inspired by the traditional grid used in embroidery.

Dare to Rug is a Romanian brand of hand-tufted rugs, launched in 2015 by two young interior architects, Andreea Batros and Flavia Scînteanu. The Marmoleum designs imagined by Dare to Rug, Bee, Meadow and Peony, refer to three iconic elements of Romanian folklore, each strongly distinctive while forming a harmonious alliance.

Kustaa Saksi is a Finnish visual artist, both a textile designer and an illustrator. The Marmoleum designs created by Kustaa Saksi, directly inspired by nature, come in two series, Iris and Oasis: Iris, with a colorful design, as if animated by various ?exploding? elements to create a dynamic image; Oasis, which recreates nature within a circle.
